Fleas & Ticks

We politely ask that you ensure your dog is up to date with any flea and tick treatment before their scheduled appointment with us. Please check over your dog prior to their appointment, if you suspect that your dog may have a flea or tick infestation please do not bring them to the salon. We ask that you reschedule the groom once the flea or tick problem is under control. 

Dogs with a flea or tick infestation carry a risk of anemia, infections, tapeworms and other health problems. We recommend that you contact your vet for advice on the best treatment for your situation. A topical monthly flea preventative may be the most effective choice. 

Granted fleas can sometimes be hard to spot, therefore if we notice fleas during the time your dog is in the salon and other dogs are present we will contact you to collect them immediately. If no other dogs are currently present or soon expected in the salon we will bath your dog using a flea medicated shampoo. There will be an additional cost of £10 added to the groom to cover the flea bath as well as our time cleaning, disinfecting and flea bombing the salon. 

We will not under any circumstances attempt to remove ticks ourselves. We are not trained to do this and feel is better for your vet to remove the tick to ensure it is removed safely and successfully. As well as the fact they are known carrier of disease and may require further treatment.
